Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger said in a memo to employees that the IT firm will announce a companywide enhanced retirement offering for eligible employees amid the company's plans to layoff 15,000 employees. Gelsinger added that Intel would also offer an application programme for voluntary departures. "These decisions have challenged me to my core," he said regarding the layoffs.
