Apple's second-largest iPhone assembler Pegatron has registered a subsidiary in Chennai, as per reports. The Taiwanese contract manufacturer is reportedly in discussions with several state governments to find land for setting up its first plant in India, as it seeks to expand production capacity outside China. The other two iPhone makers, Wistron and Foxconn, are already present in the country.
