The IPL has changed replacement rules for remainder of the 2025 season. It will allow franchises to sign temporary replacement players for the remainder of the rearranged season, but those players will not be eligible for retention ahead of the next auction. Several players including Jake Fraser-McGurk (Delhi Capitals) and Jamie Overton (Chennai Super Kings) have withdrawn from the tournament.
