Iran deal hopes lift Sensex as oil falls

Indian markets rallied after reports said the US and Iran were nearing a possible deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, though officials said nothing was ready to sign. The Sensex rose 1,073 points and the Nifty 50 gained 312 points, while Brent crude fell near $97.50 a barrel. The rupee strengthened to ₹95.23 per dollar.
