Iran has announced deploying the Ghadir phased-array radar, an indigenously built long-range radar system in Ahwaz city near the Iraqi border. The radar can reportedly detect a plane from 600 km and a ballistic missile from 1,100 km. The deployment signals a strengthening in Iran’s air defences as it comes close to sealing a nuclear deal with world powers.
