Iran offered a counter-proposal to the US' demand to suspend the Middle Eastern country's uranium enrichment efforts for 20 years, proposing a five-year suspension, the NYT reported. Iran also offered to "significantly" dilute its existing stockpiles in response to the US' demand that all enriched uranium be removed from the country. Enriched uranium is used in nuclear reactors and weapons.
