Iran has reportedly rejected Oman's proposal for jointly managing Strait of Hormuz. The proposal suggested separate shipping lanes managed by Iran and Oman, along with voluntary transit fees. Iran instead wants one route to lie entirely within its territorial waters, while part of the other would also pass through them, allowing Tehran to oversee both inbound and outbound maritime traffic.
