Iran's Khamenei skips key military meet for first time in 37 years amid US threats

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has broken a long-standing tradition by missing the annual February 8 meeting with air force commanders, a ritual he has followed every year since assuming power in 1989. This comes amid rising tensions between Iran and US. Instead of Khamenei, chief of staff of armed forces, Abdolrahim Mousavi, reportedly met with the commanders.
