An Iranian lawmaker from Tehran, Mahmoud Nabavian, on Tuesday criticised female protesters in the country who are agitating against the death of a woman earlier this month. The deceased, Mahsa Amini, died after allegedly being assaulted by the police over an "improper hijab". "These rioters are out to prostitute themselves," Nabavian said. Grand Ayatollah Noori Hamedani earlier appealed for calm.
