Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday inaugurated the first phase of Chabahar Port, for which India committed $500 million to open a new trade route bypassing Pakistan. The port, which will be operated by India for ten years, is aimed to end the dependence of Iran and Afghanistan on Pakistan for a transit route for trade with India, reports said.
