IRCTC told to pay ₹4,000 over ₹1 refund dispute

The Kasaragod District Consumer Commission has directed IRCTC to refund ₹1 to a Kerala passenger who received less than the amount due after cancelling an AC three-tier ticket in August 2024. IRCTC must also pay 9% interest on the shortfall, ₹100 in compensation and ₹3,000 in litigation costs within 30 days of receiving the order.
