IRDAI proposes complexity-based insurance commissions

IRDAI has proposed linking insurance agent commissions to sales complexity rather than flat percentages. It also plans to cap life insurers' operating expenses at 15% of premium income within two years, dropping to 12.5% in five years. Similar cuts are proposed for general insurers. Public feedback on the proposals is open until October 25, 2026.
