Irwin Rose, 2004 Nobel chemistry winner, dies

The 88-year-old Irwin Rose, who shared the 2004 Nobel prize in Chemistry, has died in Massachusetts (US). Rose, along with Israelis Aaron Ciechanover and Avram Hershko, did a research which explained how cells identify old and damaged proteins and transform them into pieces for new proteins. It helped in the development of a new class of drugs to fight cancer.
