At COP 29 in Baku, countries set a $300 billion annual climate finance target by 2035 to help poorer nations cope with climate change. However, this falls short of the $1 trillion needed, and inflation reduces its value. Much of the funding consists of prior commitments, weakening efforts to limit global warming to 1.5°C and leaving vulnerable nations without adequate resources to adapt.
