Not every case of jaundice is hepatitis, says Dr Pradeepta Kumar Sethy. Jaundice is a symptom caused by excess bilirubin and may result from hepatitis, gallstones, malaria, liver disease or bile duct blockage. Early medical evaluation and proper diagnosis are essential to identify the cause and begin the right treatment.
