The Indian Sugar & Bio-Energy Manufacturers Association (ISMA) has called for raising the Minimum Selling Price (MSP) of sugar to ₹40.2/kg for 2025-26. With rising sugarcane costs and falling recovery rates, mills face financial strain. ISMA recommends the MSP of sugar must also be aligned automatically with sugarcane FRP to ensure timely farmer payments and stabilize the sugar industry.
