Israel forfeits Chess Olympiad matches due to Yom Kippur

Israel forfeited Round 6 matches against Netherlands and Bulgaria at the FIDE Chess Olympiad in Samarkand after both opponents refused to reschedule encounters due to Yom Kippur observance. Both teams received 4-0 wins by forfeit. Earlier, Singapore and Colombia had agreed to reschedule, while Pakistan forfeited Round 1 in solidarity with Palestine.
