US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has claimed that Israel has "effectively lost sovereignty in its northern quadrant" as people residing there are afraid to return to their homes over looming fears of war with Lebanon. Blinken added that he believes Israel doesn't want a war in Lebanon, but may be prepared to engage in one if necessary.
