Former Israeli Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of seeking to prolong the war in Gaza until elections. Lieberman claimed internal pressure would mount on Netanyahu after all the remaining hostages in Gaza are returned and the war comes to an end. Netanyahu's ruling coalition recently lost majority in the Israeli parliament.
