At least 1,24,000 people have been newly displaced, he said, adding, "Large number of people are reportedly seeking shelter in hospitals." Last week, Israel launched an attack on Gaza killing at least 730 people and injuring around 1,200.

Apple has launched Apple Intelligence for users in India. The AI features have been launched with iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4 and macOS Sequoia 15.4 updates. They'll be available on iPhone 15 Pro and later models, and iPad and MacBook's Air and Pro models powered by M1 or later chips. The features include Visual Intelligence (which can extract information from pictures).

Bajinder Singh, a self-proclaimed Christian pastor, was sentenced to life imprisonment for raping a woman, a case for which was filed in 2018. The victim alleged that Singh took her to his residence under the pretext of helping her move abroad. He raped her and also recorded the act, the victim alleged. A Punjab court had acquitted five other accused.

US President Donald Trump said that he heard India is "going to be dropping its tariffs very substantially" on US goods. This comes one day before reciprocal tariffs are set to take effect globally. "I said, 'Why didn't somebody do this a long time ago?' A lot of countries are going to be dropping their tariffs," Trump further said.

Sensex and Nifty saw massive dips on Tuesday, a day before US President Donald Trump's reciprocal tariffs are set to be imposed on multiple countries including India. Sensex tumbled 999.23 points to hit 76,415 while Nifty fell over 1% to drop below 23,300. A surge in crude oil prices and US recession risks also likely contributed to the dip.

He added that the implant will enable someone who is completely blind to see. He further said that, initially, Blindsight would only be capable of providing low-resolution vision.
