Israel's proposed media reforms have drawn sharp criticism from Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, who said the bill "endangers the very principle of press freedom". The Union of Journalists in Israel has filed an appeal to the Supreme Court. International Federation of Journalists general secretary Anthony Bellanger said, the law, if passed, "would be a blow to free speech and media freedom".
