Israel's parliament has given a preliminary approval to a bill which would apply Israeli law to West Bank. The vote was the first of four needed to pass the law and coincided with US Vice President JD Vance's visit to Israel. A month ago, US President Donald Trump had said he would not permit Israel to annex the West Bank.
