ISRO's failed PSLV-C62 mission was carrying spy satellite 'Anvesha' and 15 others when it faced an anomaly during the third-stage and disintegrated over the Indian Ocean. Of the mission's 16 'passengers', Spanish startup Orbital Paradigm's 'Kestral Initial Demonstrator', or KID, was the only satellite that survived. KID not only managed to separate from the spacecraft but also transmitted data.
