Union IT Ministry is keeping a close eye on the developments surrounding TCS' decision to fire 12,000 employees, or around 2% of its workforce, Moneycontrol reported. In the days to come, the government expects industry and academia to address issues related to skilling and re-skilling. The government further hopes electronics and IT industry to benefit from Employment Linked Incentive scheme.
