Malayalam actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran has reportedly been served an Income Tax notice over ₹40 crore earned as co-producer for three films. Officials stressed that the notice, issued in late March, is unrelated to the controversy around his latest film Empuraan, though it coincides with ED raids on co-producer Gokulam Gopalan over FEMA violations.
