It took 32 years for a team to score 400 in a World Cup match

India became the first-ever team to put up a 400-plus total in a Cricket World Cup match on March 19, 2007, nearly 32 years after the first-ever World Cup match was played. India scored 413/5, surpassing 398/5 which was scored by Sri Lanka against Kenya in the 1996 World Cup. The ODI turned out to be Anil Kumble's last.
