Lucknow Super Giants mentor Gautam Gambhir said getting all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham, who was bought for a record ₹9.25 crore by CSK at IPL auction 2021, for ₹90 lakh in IPL mega auction 2022 was a "steal deal" for the franchise. He added, "We were looking for somebody to add firepower at number eight." Gowtham didn't play any match last season.
