Italian scooter Vespa turns 70

Vespa, the Italian scooter brand manufactured by Piaggio, was founded on April 23, 1946, in the city of Florence. The scooter was initially designed as an affordable means of transportation for the masses after the World War II. Vespa, meaning "wasp" in Italian, has reportedly sold over 18 million models so far.
