Italian town uses mirror to get sunlight

The Viganella town in Italy has an eight-metre wide mirror which reflects sunlight onto the town, as it is situated in a mountain valley and doesn't receive sunlight between mid-November and February. The mirror tracks the sun, adjusting its panels when required, to reflect sunlight onto the town square. It was built in 2006, at a cost of about €100,000.
