Italy makes COVID-19 vaccines mandatory for those aged above 50

Amid concerns over the Omicron variant, Italy on Wednesday made COVID-19 vaccination mandatory for people aged above 50. Vaccinations were already compulsory for teachers and health workers in Italy, while office employees were required to be either inoculated or show a negative test result before entering their workplaces. Italy reported 1,89,109 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday.
