Italy's Intesa Sanpaolo loses $108 million to AI voice scam

Italy's largest bank, Intesa Sanpaolo, lost €95 million ($108 million) after scammers used AI voice-cloning to impersonate its CEO on WhatsApp and a lawyer on a follow-up call. Fideuram's chairman transferred funds to accounts in China and Hong Kong. Around €53 million was recovered via international cooperation; €36 million remains missing.
