Australia's Aaron Finch has said that he thought "long and hard" before announcing his decision to retire from international cricket. Finch added he would be doing a "disservice" to the team if he plays on for "purely selfish reasons". He further said, "[My retirement] gives everyone...time to...prepare for the...[2024] T20 World Cup because I can't see myself getting there."
