The Income Tax Department has released Excel utilities for ITR-1 and ITR-4 for FY26 (AY27), allowing eligible taxpayers to start filing their income tax returns. The forms can be downloaded from the income tax website and taxpayers must file returns by July 31. The applicable ITR form depends on income type and taxpayer category.
