Responding to Uber Co-founder Travis Kalanick's decision to appoint two board Directors, Uber has said that it came as a "complete surprise". Kalanick on Friday appointed former Xerox Corporation CEO Ursula Burns and former Merrill Lynch CEO John Thain. In a statement, Kalanick said the appointment comes in light of recent Board proposal to "significantly" alter the company's voting rights.
