IV infusion set costing ₹11.05 sold at 2,841% profit in Maha hospitals, FDA finds
A survey found hospitals in Maharashtra charging more for medical consumables than their procurement costs, FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe said. An IV infusion set procured for ₹11.05 carried a printed MRP of ₹325, a markup of over 2,841%, he said. Similarly, a syringe procured at ₹6.75 carried an MRP of ₹57.20. Mundhe has urged central authorities to review the pricing.
