J&K medical college interns begin hunger strike over stipend hike

Medical interns at SKIMS Medical College in Bemina have started a hunger strike demanding a monthly stipend hike to ₹30,000. The interns say verbal assurances are not enough and want a formal written order. They claim the current stipend is ₹12,300 and has not been increased since 2019.
