J&K's first two mineral blocks auctioned by Centre

For the first time, two limestone blocks in Jammu & Kashmir, Koot–Kapran (22.43 ha, 4.75 mn tonnes) and Wantrag (5.36 ha, 10.85 mn tonnes), were auctioned via the Central Government's mineral auction process. The Mines Ministry said the move will attract investment, boost economic activity, and create direct and indirect employment in the UT.
