Jagan regrets backing CEC appointment law, says 'Examiner can't be appointed by student'

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed regret over his party’s support for the 2023 law that changed the process for appointing the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC). "An examiner can't be appointed by the student. No matter how honest...examiner is, they'll certainly have to face criticism if their appointment isn't made by a neutral body," Jagan added.
