Jaguar breaks 10-year-old speed record with electric boat

Jaguar's battery-powered V20E boat clocked an average speed of 142 kmph across a 2-km course, surpassing the previous maritime electric record of 124 kmph, set ten years ago. Jaguar, in partnership with Williams Advanced Engineering, used similar hardware and technology it uses in Formula E, the all-electric street racing series. Jaguar is set to stop producing fuel-based cars by 2020.
