Jairam Ramesh calls MGNREGA replacement 'surgical strike'

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh alleged that replacing MGNREGA with VB-G RAM G was a 'surgical strike' on rural India's safety net. Citing a Scroll investigation, he claimed Maharashtra villagers were shown working on paper but unpaid, with politicians pocketing wages. He alleged similar fake attendance and clone app scams in UP and other BJP-ruled states.
