Seventeen-year-old Durham pacer James Minto scored his maiden first-class half-century today, after he was promoted to open the batting as nightwatcher in his fifth first-class game. Minto's primary skill is as a left-arm pacer, and he had averaged 13.33 with the bat before this, batting twice at No.10 and once at No.8. He was out for 67 on day two.
