James Webb Telescope finds atmosphere where 1 year lasts 10 hours

Scientists at Carnegie Institution have detected a thick atmosphere around TOI-561-b, a fast-orbiting rocky planet, using James Webb Space Telescope. They found the planet to be far cooler than expected for a bare rock with a year lasting just over 10 hours and one side in permanent daylight, making the atmosphere "impossible". Notably, its mass is twice that of Earth.
