January 1st or April 9th, when does the new year starts for Hindus
Although the year 2024 has begun, it is not yet a new year for Hindus. Hindu New Year, known as Vikram Samvat, will begin on April 9 2024, and it will be the year 2081, according to the Hindu calender. Also known as Ugadi and Gudi Padwa, the Hindu New Year also marks the beginning of the new harvest season.
