Japan on Tuesday hanged three death-row inmates in its first executions since December 2019, the Kyodo news agency reported. These were also the first executions carried out under PM Fumio Kishida, who took office in October. One of those put to death was a 65-year-old man convicted of stabbing and killing seven of his relatives in 2004, according to Kyodo.
