Chubu Electric Power admitted it may have underestimated earthquake risks at its Hamaoka nuclear plant, located near a high-risk seismic zone. The admission comes as Japan seeks to revive nuclear power 15 years after Fukushima. Safety reviews by the Nuclear Regulation Authority were suspended, and the company has formed a legal panel to investigate the discrepancy in seismic data.
