Japan's Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi dissolved the lower house of Parliament on Friday before the upcoming snap elections on February 8. The dissolution of the 465-member House of Representatives will lead to the beginning of a 12-day election campaign that will start on Tuesday. Takaichi was elected as Japan's first female Prime Minister in October last year.
