Japan's Centrist Reform Alliance to disband after election loss

Japan's Centrist Reform Alliance will dissolve after winning just 49 of 465 lower house seats in February's general election. Party leader Junya Ogawa announced the decision Wednesday. The party, formed in January by merging Komeito and the Constitutional Democratic Party, failed to challenge PM Sanae Takaichi's LDP, which gained over 100 seats, totalling 316.
