Japan's population shrinks for 14th straight time in largest-ever drop

Japan has reported its largest-ever annual decline in population with a drop of 8,98,000 people from the previous year, as per official data. This marks the 14th consecutive decline in the country's population. The total number of Japanese nationals in the country stands at 120,296,000 as of October 2024, the data showed. Only Tokyo and Saitama saw growth in population.
