After 20 years, Japan has halted imports of Indian mangoes this season. This comes after Japan's plant quarantine officers flagged irregularities in fumigation and related disinfection measures at Indian treatment facilities during an inspection visit in March, reported Economic Times. In 1986, Japan had banned Indian mangoes over fruit fly infestations, which was lifted after 20 years in 2006.
