Japan to build supercomputer 1,000x faster than other machines
short by Mansi Agarwal / on Wednesday, 25 September, 2024
Japan plans to build a 'Zeta-class' supercomputer that will be 1,000 times faster than current machines. Named 'Fugaku Next', the machine is expected to cost over $750 million and could be operational by 2030. It is being seen as a successor of Japan's Fugaku supercomputer, which was once the world's fastest supercomputer before being surpassed by US' 'Frontier'.
